About Suvita

Suvita is working to increase the uptake of children’s vaccinations in India. We are impact-focused and scale-focused, delivering two evidence-based programmes, in collaboration with state governments, to boost attendance at vaccination appointments.

We are on a rapidly growing trajectory and seek a Consultant to provide technical support to the Routine Immunisation (RI) Cell in Bihar and further Suvita’s programming. Last year, we scaled our SMS reminders programme across all of Maharashtra; we have MoUs with both Bihar and Maharashtra State Governments to target state-wide delivery of our programmes; and we have been incubated and funded by highly regarded institutions, such as The/Nudge Foundation, Charity Entrepreneurship, Mulago Foundation and GiveWell. We have enrolled more than 30 lakh families to date but are just getting started.

In Bihar, we have enrolled more than 4 lakh caregivers for SMS reminders for routine immunisation. We sent messages just last month (September) to more than one lakh parents on routine immunisation and postpartum family planning. We currently work in four districts: Patna, Saran, Bhojpur and Gaya, and plan to expand across the state.

You will be an integral member of the 20-member Bihar team which is mostly based in Patna. You will interact regularly with them and with members of the RI cell and will report to the Programme Delivery Manager at Suvita in Bihar (interim reporting to a co-founder until the Programme Delivery Manager is hired).

  • Identify relevant reports, meetings and events that could be useful for getting more children immunised in Bihar

  • When available, support the Suvita programme team in Bihar with site visits, data analysis and surveys as needed.
